Triptych: As Sisters in Zion

This artwork is developed from Ukrainian traditional embroidered towels, which are considered symbols of peace, well-being, and protection. The graphic technique imitates red stitches on the white textile. Each part of this triptych contains notes from the LDS Church hymns in Ukrainian. The hymns are “Oh, Holy Words of Truth and Love,” “How Great the Wisdom and the Love,” and “Be Still, My Soul.” The artworks portray the righteous women of Zion, who find their joy in service, study of the scriptures, sisterhood of the Relief Society, and chastity. The central part, where three figures are depicted, displays the emblem of the Relief Society. Women’s images reflect reverence and purity of thought.

This piece is also owned by the Church History Museum and is a winner of the Eighth International Art Competition: Remembering the Great Things of God.
